Cleveland, N.C. Served as a Pvt. from Rutherford Co., NC in the Revolutionary War as a substitute for his father He went to Warrington, Hillsboro, Salisbury and on to Charleston. William states that he returned home to Franklin Co in 1783, thus indicating his parents were still there. and soon after married Amy Duggard.
