Donald ( Daniel) MCINNISH Sr. Died 2 NOV. 1751. Donald McINNISH, was the earliest known member of the family to immigrate to America from Scotland.  Donald McINNISH is believed to have arrived in America between 1738 & 1740. The McINNISH family was in Surry Co., VA by 1742. Subsequent generations used the name McKINNEY as early as 1778 when Daniel Jr signed a deed in Franklin Co., NC. Donald/Daniel's occupation was a cobbler and he died 2 NOV. 1751 in Albemarle Parish, Surry Co., VA. Buried 4 Nov 1751 in the same place. Married to MARY WYLLIE  (Mary may have been related to Rev. WILLIAM WYLLIE (WILLIE) & Elizabeth) who d. 31 Oct. 1751 and was buried 2 Nov. 1751 in Albemarle Parish, Surry Co., VA. The Rev. William WILLIE kept an Albemarle Parish record which stated that DONALD/DANIEL, his wife MARY, and the twins which died Oct 1751 were all buried in a common grave (It is believed, of Yellow Fever). Note: (Rev. William Wyllie Bible at University of Virginia is thought to have belonged to this Rev. Wyllie-It is unsubstantiated though.)

Concerning the speculation that Mary Wyllie was the daughter of the Rev. William Wyllie: The Foreword in the 1958 book "Register of Albemarle Parish, Surry and Sussex Counties, 1739-1778," by Gertrude R. B. Richards (ed.), includes a statement that "among the entries is that of the death of the rector's only child, Margaret aged 6."
